I may never be able to retire. My 401K and personal portfolio has tanked so much in the past few months, I'll have to keep on working even after I'm dead.
According to Wikipedia: Carbon was discovered in prehistory and occurs in all organic life. This nonmetal also has the interesting chemical property of being able to bond with itself and a wide variety of other elements, forming nearly ten million known compounds. Carbon compounds form the basis of all life on Earth and the carbon-nitrogen cycle provides some of the energy produced by the Sun and other stars. Without it life as we know it could not exist.
